On the afternoon of May 13th, our city held a symposium on public opinion among representatives of the National People's Congress and citizens. The Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, He Chunkuan, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Ni Zhipin, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, presided over the meeting. City leaders Chu Deyou, Huang Dequan, Dong Hongming, Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Wu Ming, and 15 representatives attended the meeting.
The convening of this public opinion symposium in our city is not only necessary to support the Municipal People's Congress in fulfilling its duties and carrying out its work in accordance with the law, but also an effective measure to solidly carry out the study and education of the spirit of the Central Eight point Regulation. The theme of this symposium is "Urban Construction and Management". At the meeting, representatives freely expressed their opinions and suggestions on the theme, reflecting the social situation and public opinion. City leaders such as He Chunkuan listened carefully to the speeches, had in-depth exchanges with representatives, and gained a wide understanding of various situations. They suggested that the government carry out safety hazard inspections on urban road manhole covers, continue to optimize bus routes, and maximize the role of urban public transportation, and encourage and guide social capital to participate in the 'independent renewal' of old residential areas, and expand the channels for raising funds for renovation. In response to the suggestions and problems raised by everyone, they put forward solutions on site, and required relevant units to conscientiously supervise, implement, and track the effectiveness.
In his speech, He Chunkuan pointed out that it is necessary to integrate the participation of the masses throughout the management of urban construction, build a good platform, establish a good mechanism, and continue to carry out the "attention to people's livelihood and suggestions, and five level representatives in action", fully mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of citizens to participate in urban construction management, and help the municipal party committee and government improve their work better. We must integrate scientific refinement throughout urban construction management, put people first, constantly innovate urban management mechanisms, think from others, protect citizens' rights and interests, dare to take responsibility, and continuously improve the quality of urban management and services. We must integrate the pursuit of efficiency throughout urban construction and management, firmly establish the concept of "managing the city", organically integrate government actions, market mechanisms, and social participation, and truly achieve a better life for the people in the city. We should integrate the cohesive force throughout the management of urban construction, establish a "one game" awareness, establish and improve departmental linkage and coordination mechanisms, and consolidate the joint construction and management force. The general public should carry forward the spirit of "ownership", actively participate in urban construction and management, and jointly build and maintain the "beautiful home" of the city.
